Compression
Cycle
- The male
and female rotors revolve within a single part housing with extremely
tight tolerances. Suction and discharge take place along the rotor
axes
- Air flows
into the inlet channel
- Continuous
turning of both rotors closes the air inlet port causing compression
as the space in the interlobes decreases
- Oil is injected
for the purpose of cooling, lubricating and sealing
- Discharge
begins when the compressed air reaches the discharge port and
the rated pressure has been attained
This process,
which takes place five times per revolution, produces a continuous
air flow eliminating the need for air storage tanks.
